glad to finally hear this finished after a year of being in the works; awesome results :3

Technocosm responds:

* 2 years technically. 🤣
Yeah I gotta get a move on in future.

well, i don't review much music on here, but technocosm sent me a link to this, so i can't just ignore it

so, my rating is a 5 star, because everything about this is 100% perfect (outside of some of my own personal things that i would've done different)

let's start with what i like, first of all, the guitar is really nice and plucky and the tone is quite perfect, the drums are very clean and punchy aswell, in the drop too, you're compressing them perfectly and it gives them that nice punch that you can hear through the bass
when it comes to the basses, i think you did a great job at designing them (if they're not cymatics basses, if they are, oof), they have a very nice crisp quality to them; technocosm mentioned them having too much high end, but personally, i love having high end in my basses
the second drop saws are very clean and have that perfect tone to them where they sound both huge and sweet, the mastering is also very clean and nice, there isn't any sort of audible clipping and that's very nice (i also am happy that the non-drop sections aren't super compressed lol)

now, when it comes to the stuff i dislike, my main issue is that in the drops, you are missing sub and the basses are very quiet, although i understand if it's a personal choice; i personally would have made the basses louder, the way the first drop is mixed, the basses sound like they're quieter than the hihats
when it comes to the tone of the saws, they're very good, but they do feel a bit dull, they could have done well with a bit of *something* to spice them up a bit, like maybe flanging them or so
i will also agree with techno on the sidechaining, it feels like it's cutting out the saws completely at times, which makes them sound... weird; if anything, you could've automated the volume of the saws to make them tremolo, and made the sidechain really short, and you may have gotten a nicer feel in the sections where the drums play a lot

so yeah, this is my amazing review as a complete professional, hope you get scouted soon my friend
also, if you made the basses yourself, sheesh you have a great future ahead as a sound designer for some sample pack company xD

VerceMusic responds:

Thanks a lot man! i will improve the track as you said :DD
btw yes mostly of the basses are made by me :)

i love the very plucky piano and the pad on top, aswell as the tasty clicky percussion
it feels very emotional and somewhat sad, i cant begin to imagine being hit with the feels when entering the village (i assume its the village theme) haha

Technocosm responds:

Yes.

pery pretty piano song with a lot of ott

Technocosm responds:

there's no OTT here.
Fowl is the track you're looking for if you're after my epic OTT pianos.

.🥳.

love the feeling of this, very sad and distant, i especially love the drums and the glitching at the end of the song (not to mention the tasty fm pad lol)

Technocosm responds:

The "pad" is actually just an EPiano in the Megadrive Soundfont I used with some ensemble, phasing, and bitcrush. It does take on a very nice voice-like almost humming quality though.

i am pretty sure the feeling of not wanting to exist is called latent suicidal ideation, exactly the way it is explained in the description: you don't want to die, but you want to be free from all the troubles of life

i really like this, very calm and serene track, really encompasses the feeling of the game hehe (not spoiling anything), but feeling shrowded in emptiness is the best way i can describe this

the pad feels very thick and it swerves and grows with the song, the little melodic elements that come in later add a touch of color and spice to what is a bland (not in a bad way) and pale feeling, the later, inharmonious ambience that clashes with the main pad feels great aswell!

the mix is clean, master aswell, so overall, 5/5 from me! not biased at all

i love the section in the middle, where the textures come in, it's really detailed and lively, like everything is morphing around you, love the screeching strings; great track! a very nice composition overall!

DigitalProdigy responds:
